This Father’s Day, We Remember Ed Koscak
Ed Koscak could certainly be described as a "loving husband" and "devoted father," but one of my favorite things about my dad was his special gift for making everyone feel like an equal and a friend.
Known as "Big Ed" to his friends and Dad to his loving family, Ed Koscak was taken from us far too soon, 7 years ago after a brave battle with pancreatic cancer. He is missed daily by his wife Kathy, his sons Michael (Alex) and Matthew (Anna), and by the countless people who called him a friend.
Before he passed, he told his family he wasn't scared of dying, but that he was bummed to miss out on what was to come. He truly loved life, and deeply cherished doing fun things with his closest friends and family. We think of him daily and miss him as life continues on. He left a hole that can never be filled, but we know he would want us to continue to kick life's butt and have fun along the way.
Ed was a passionate advocate for improving pancreatic cancer outcomes for those facing the same battle. He channeled his own fight into fundraising for early detection research. His dedication to this cause is why his family and friends continue to champion these efforts today. It's our hope that future pancreatic cancer patients will be able to beat this disease and return to life with their families.
